Help and Feedback

Updated: November 6, 2026

1. Start with a book

Choose Selected Tang Poems or the Three Character Classic on the shelf. Search the current book by passage title, author or remembered original text. Open a passage to read over its painting; swipe or use the arrows to turn pages in longer texts.

2. Character cards and vocabulary

Tap a character to open its card. Pronunciation plays only when you choose to hear it. Save a character to mark it in the text; the same character shares its saved status across passages. Remove it from a card, the character view or the vocabulary list, and use the brief undo option if needed. Removal is not a mastery assessment.

Character reading shows one character at a time. Swipe or use the previous and next buttons. Position and Return to Full Text are at the bottom; the upper-right bookmark opens your vocabulary. Reading progress uses the original character position, so page counts may change with text size.

3. Display and hints

Settings controls text size, card pinyin and background intensity. Replaying operation hints restores tap and swipe tips without clearing vocabulary or progress. Pronunciation uses iOS system Mandarin voices; check system voice resources if no voice is available. Verify polyphonic and classical readings in context.

4. Local trial and sources

The trial contains three Tang poems, four short Three Character Classic selections and a 240-character opening sample, not a complete classics library. Books and paintings are bundled; reading requires no account. Legal and support web pages require internet access. We provide no account synchronization or cloud backup; review iOS backup settings before reinstalling.

The paintings and character-seal icon include AI-assisted artwork. Font and text-source licenses are retained in the app. Source projects: https://github.com/lxgw/LxgwWenKai/ and https://github.com/chinese-poetry/chinese-poetry/ . Feedback on editions, pinyin or rights is welcome.
